After an amazing year in 2014 the Over Bored Monster Truck team have put in a lot of time to get ready for 2015 and the first event of the year at the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi with the Toughest Monster Truck Tour. The off season saw the truck taken down to the bare frame, sand blasted, re-powdercoated, and re-built from the ground up. It was a busy off season with a lot of long hours of work but the end result was an even more spectacular looking truck for the new year. There were many lessons learned in the last year for driver Jamey Garner and crew to make the truck perform it’s best, and they looked to start the new year off right. The crew made the trip from Indiana to Mississippi joining a great line up of trucks for the weekend and two shows.
Friday got the season off to a solid start for the Over Bored team as they turned in some good results. The wheelie contest has never been their strong suit, but in racing they were able to defeat Quad Chaos in round one before falling to Snake Bite in the semi-finals. It was a big air freestyle from Jamey and Over Bored as they flew across the Landers Center floor to third place
Saturday saw another strong performance from Over Bored. While they weren’t able to take any wins on the night, they shined in freestyle with a great run with some big air and crossthreads over the obstacles. The run was good enough for a second place tie with Walking Tall, just behind Bigfoot for first place. After all was said and done, Garner and Over Bored found themselves in third place in the points for a great open to 2015.
