The Over Bored monster truck team has had a fantastic 2018 season with the Monster Truck Throwdown tour and would look to close out the campaign on a high note as they traveled to GALOT Motorsports Park in Benson, North Carolina. The venue plays host to top level drag racing and tractor pulling competition, but on this weekend it would be the high flying and high horsepower spectacle of monster truck racing taking the spotlight. Drivers Jamey Garner and Deidra Ballard with the Over Bored and Miss Over Bored machines would face off against six other top of the line drivers and trucks over the course of two events. Friday night would see the team go without wins but it would be an impressive performance nonetheless. Ballard had Miss Over Bored working well as she got plenty of big air over the buses. Garner continued where she left off with some more big air of his own, as well as an awesome slap wheelie to highlight his freestyle performance.

Saturday night saw rain roll in but that rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits as the drivers and crowd were amped up alike. The rain soaked clay track would be a challenge to adapt to at the start of the event making for a difficult wheelie and racing competition. By the time freestyle rolled around though the surface mud had been knocked off and left the dirt in great shape. Ballard would have another good run to close out her rookie season campaign and set the tone for the night’s freestyle action. When it came time for Garner and Over Bored to take the track, there was no holding back. Garner would sail Over Bored all over the track with the biggest air of the weekend throughout his freestyle run. To close out his performance, Garner whipped into a wicked set of cyclone donuts that had the sellout crowd on their feet and cheering. It would be enough to put Garner over the top and claim their final freestyle victory of the 2018 Monster Truck Throwdown season.

It was an awesome weekend in Benson to close out the Monster Truck Throwdown season, but we’re not done just yet. We still have two weekends left on the schedule for 2017 as we head to Indianapolis and Houston for two huge Monster Jam stadium events.
